I’ve been thinking a lot lately about where I live (dwell) and where I want to live (dwell) and how do I make decisions about that? Then this morning I saw a scripture in Psalms 27 that says, “One thing I have asked of Yehovah, that I will seek: to dwell with Yehovah all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Yehovah and to meditate in His temple.”
Well, I was shocked! All my life I have read this verse thinking it meant when I die I will live with Yehovah…forever! Those words, “all the days of my life” just about knocked me down! I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how I was going to dwell with Him all these days of my life – where I am right now, here. So, I asked Him how I was to do that miracle. He said that His Spirit lived or dwelled in me. I thought about that for a while and told Him I still couldn’t figure out how I could dwell in myself with Him? It was too complicated. He smiled and said, “My Spirit lives in others too!”
Oh…now it makes more sense. When I choose to be with others who are houses for the Ruach, then we all are dwelling in His presence and beholding His beauty and we can meditate in His temples.
My thoughts didn’t stop there. The Father showed me why He wants us to raise our children a certain way. He wants them to experience the same thing. They need to be able to choose the right kinds of friends…the kind with the Spirit of Yehovah in their temple. What about we adults? What about our friends? Is that important? Think about it…. Where are we dwelling?
“I will seek to dwell with Yehovah all the days of my life.”
